The Preferred Pickup | Range Rover Join As Diamond Partner for the British Business Awards 2026

Some objects become inseparable from the country that created them.

For more than half a century, Range Rover has occupied that rare space in British design: instantly recognisable, completely assured and enduringly in-keeping with every generation. Its silhouette has evolved, its technology has transformed, yet the original proposition remains remarkably intact. A vehicle designed to go almost anywhere, while belonging almost anywhere.

The British Chamber of Commerce in Japan is delighted to welcome Range Rover as a Diamond Partner of the British Business Awards 2026, The Nineteenth Evening.

First revealed in June 1970, Range Rover arrived with an idea that was unusual for its time: combining genuine all-terrain capability with the comfort, composure and design expected of a refined road car. More than 55 years later, that philosophy continues to define the marque.

Its place in design history was recognised almost immediately. In 1971, a Range Rover was exhibited at the Louvre in Paris as an example of exemplary industrial design. Over successive generations, the details first drawn into that original form have endured: the floating roof, uninterrupted waistline, clamshell bonnet and commanding proportions that make a Range Rover identifiable before its badge ever comes into view.

There is something distinctly British in that continuity. Heritage is present, but never allowed to become nostalgia.

Today, the Range Rover family spans the Range Rover, Range Rover Sport, Range Rover Velar and Range Rover Evoque, each carrying a different interpretation of the same design language, from the serenity and craftsmanship of the flagship Range Rover to the more dynamic character of Range Rover Sport. This line-up will shortly be further enhanced with a new member, the Range Rover GT, which promises all the Range Rover characteristics in an all-new form factor for the brand. Across the family, traditional ideas of material, proportion and comfort now sit alongside advanced digital technology, electrified powertrains and increasingly individual approaches to personalisation.

That combination of heritage and modernity has found a natural audience in Japan.

Jaguar Land Rover's relationship with the Japanese market stretches back more than 70 years, developing from niche British imports into a significant premium presence with a distinctly local identity. The relationship extends beyond the road. Jaguar Land Rover has previously stood alongside the British Embassy Tokyo as a principal partner of its ‘UK in JAPAN’ campaign, supporting a wider celebration of British business, innovation, culture and design in Japan.

And behind the marque sits another, considerably older, British association.

The tradition of Royal Warrants connected with Land Rover dates to 1951 and King George VI. More recently, Royal Warrants were granted by HM King Charles III in May 2024 and HM Queen Camilla in May 2025. It is a quiet distinction that feels particularly appropriate for a marque whose vehicles have long occupied a place somewhere between utility, ceremony and understated British luxury.

In conversation with CEO of Jaguar Land Rover Japan, Magnus Hansson:

‘As Range Rover, it is an honour to join the British Business Awards as a Diamond Partner, in this, the awards’ 19th year. As an enduring icon of British Design and Engineering, and as a pioneer of the luxury SUV, Range Rover is delighted to show its support for British businesses large and small, and their leadership in the Japanese market. ’

Range Rover at The Nineteenth Evening

On Friday, 13 November, Range Rover takes physical form. As guests arrive at Fairmont Tokyo for The Nineteenth Evening, BBA2026-branded Range Rovers will await at the front of the hotel, setting the tone before the ballroom doors have opened.

Throughout the evening, guests will have the opportunity to step inside and explore a selection from the latest Range Rover family at close quarters. To experience the materials. To discover the interiors. To take in the details that are often lost when a car is simply passing on the road.

The British Business Awards has always celebrated organisations that understand that longevity is forged through evolution. Few British marques demonstrate that principle quite as elegantly as Range Rover.

Born in Britain in 1970. Shaped across more than five decades. Now, at home in Japan. On The Nineteenth Evening, you will find the latest lines waiting at the door.
